5.0 out of 5 stars One of the Few Controllers That's Worth the Price

The 8Bitdo Ultimate C 2.4g Wireless Controller with Turbo Function and Rumble Vibration is a game-changer that is a testament to style and functionality. It has upped my gaming experience with its exceptional build qua-- Oh, wait a moment. Sorry, I forgot I wasn't an AI. Allow me to try again. *ahem*

For any game controller, there are five aspects that matter most: comfort, connectivity, battery life, durability and responsiveness. To sum up for those who want a quick review, this controller scored very high in each category. I absolutely recommend it. However, for those that wish for more details, they are offered below.

Comfort (9/10) -- It is very comfortable to hold. Of the many controllers that I've held in my life, this one is comparably much more comfortable than most. The only reason that I didn't offer the highest score is because I'm certain there are people out there who will find it either too small or too big. To be fair, I'm not certain that there are any controllers that can universally offer proper comfort to every single person.

Connectivity (9/10) -- The controller connected immediately and without any issue. Furthermore, it stayed connected no matter where I walked around in the room. When I wished to disconnect or turn off the controller, it was extremely easy to do so. The only thing I didn't like was that each controller requires its own dongle to connect. It's a bit of an inconvenience. I like the idea of connecting many controllers to the same system without issue, but perhaps that's just wishful thinking for now.

Battery Life (10/10) -- This is perhaps the most surprising feature of the controller, as it seems to last for an unusually long time. In fact, I haven't ever had the battery run out. I do charge it every once in a while, but not obsessively so. I expected it to fail at some point and it hasn't yet.

Durability (9/10) -- While the controller is plastic, it feels quite durable. It lacks that flimsy quality that many wireless controllers seem to have (as if dropping it the wrong way would break or chip something off). I don't think it's deserving of a perfect 10 score because I don't think it would necessarily survive being thrown multiple times across the room by angry gamers (though whether or not that actually matters is up to you).

Responsiveness (10/10) -- I used the controller with multiple games with the explicit purpose of testing its responsiveness and was both surprised and pleased. Every movement and button press happened instantaneously and they seemed to be the same whether the controller was plugged in or wireless.

Value (9/10) -- I have added value as an additional category for those who are wondering if the controller is actually worth the price. After all, even if a controller is amazing, if it costs $1,000 -- is it really worth it? In this case, it's definitely worth it. It seems to sit around $30, which is more than fair given its competition. It's simply not worth paying a few dollars less for something significantly worse. This controller is worth the price that's being asked.

5.0 out of 5 stars Better than most high end controllers.

I've been using an Xbox controller to PC game for a couple of years; if you search online it's the best way to go for quality and price. Two things I couldn't stand about it: the drift and the loud clicking buttons. The clicking...that crackle of hard plastic crashing onto more hard plastic...the worst sound ever conceived if you're a late night gamer with a sleeping baby and Mrs. in the house. A side note: I also tried the PS5 controller, but the battery life was lacking.

I'm so happy I finally found a replacement.
Pros:
This controller doesn't drift.
It feels great in my hands; very similar to a Nintendo Switch Pro controller.
It feels as if it's made of quality materials; not that cheap hollow feel.
I've had no issues with response or feedback.
The buttons feel great with no sticking.
The battery life is amazing.
The sound: the controller is quiet. No more loud clicking of buttons or sticks.
Setup is simple. I'm using windows and I had to re read the instructions because I plugged in the dongle and it did everything for me...I thought I was missing steps!
Turning on and off is really easy; which, by the way, was another complaint of my previous controller. Aside from the quieter buttons, the best part is the price which is much cheaper than the competiton out there.
I usually prefer the color my controllers to mimic the system; I wish there was a black offered during my purchase, but the sea breeze green-looking color is actually quite refreshing.

Cons/Neutral:
No complaints as of yet and it's been a week.
(Neutral) I'll say the rumble feature...I haven't really given it my attention; I own every current system and only the PS5 has really wowed me in the rumble feedback department so I don't pay much attention to it when I'm on my other systems.

I'm not the most fluent in PC gaming and, as a casual gamer, my expectations versus experience may differ from other hardcore gamers but hopefully my review will help someone out there. If it also helps, here are my PC specs:

CPU: Intel Core i9-12900k 16-Core 3.20 GHz
GPU: GeForce RTX 3080
RAM: 32GB

5.0 out of 5 stars High quality controller
Reviewed in the United States on June 22, 2024
Though it lacks connectivity to the switch, this serves as an excellent PC gamepad and the 2.4ghz connection is fast, far-reaching and reliable. The sticks are high quality and though they are traditional joysticks that could be subject to drift it's only if the controller itself is low quality. Drift was hardly an issue on controllers of the past, and hopefully this one holds up. For being wireless and cheap, it feels relatively premium and works well. My least favorite thing is the gripped rear handles -- it doesn't provide and real traction and just feels weird. Smooth plastic would've been better. Cheers and shop with confidence!

4.0 out of 5 stars Easy connectivity, comfortable sticks, great button placement

Having used this controller for a few months now it’s time for a review:

PROS:
Super easy connectivity to PC
Great button placement
Responsive
Strong force feedback
Decent battery life (12-20 hours in my experience)
USB C port for charging
Great price point

CONS:
The stippling texture on the grips would irritate my fingers after an hour or so of play.
Triggers have an outer edge that would cause some discomfort in my index during extended play (fixed by adjusting my finger placement).

Despite these annoyances I would recommend this controller. 8bit fulfills a necessary space in the market with their offerings. Great value.
